LOCOG is seeking a highly experienced live events production company who have Olympic, Paralympic or large scale events experience to provide administrative and production services to the Creative Directors of the four ceremonies. The Creative Directors will be recruited directly by LOCOG through a separate process and so creative content proposals are not being sought from potential production companies.
The chosen production company will manage and execute the production process from conception to delivery.
Bill Morris, LOCOG Director of Culture, Ceremonies & Education said: “The UK is a global centre of excellence in the live events industry, and we’re looking to work with the best to produce the greatest show on earth. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games welcome the word to celebrate the Games and are watched by a worldwide audience of approximately one billion people.
“We would welcome expressions of interest from companies with a proven track record in delivering large scale events, preferably in an Olympic and Paralympic environment.”
Companies are able to register their interest by visiting www.competefor.com. LOCOG expects to release the full invitation to tender, receive submissions and shortlist companies before Christmas 2009. Successful companies will be asked to present in early January 2010. It is expected that the operational structure will be operational from April 1 2010.
