Landscaping industry day

Leading landscaping companies have been invited to a showcase event at Kew Gardens next month (Wednesday, 25 April) where the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) will set out the landscaping opportunities available on the Olympic Park site.

The industry day will give landscaping companies a detailed look at the plans for the Park, which will provide 90 hectares of green space during the Games and 110 hectares afterwards.

Speakers from the ODA and its delivery partner CLM will also detail procurement plans for various contracts which will include:

ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said:

"This is a significant and challenging part of the project. Designing, building, equipping and maintaining an Olympic Park fit for both Games and legacy will require real innovation.

"We want to work with the industry to achieve this and create an Olympic Park that provides a spectacular backdrop to the Games and one of the largest urban parks in Europe created in the last 150 years.

"This industry day will give landscaping companies the opportunity to learn more and help them decide how to bid for work."
