Coventry is playing host to the London 2012 Games Football competition and will attract large numbers of visitors to the city.
Parking during the Games
On-street parking in the vicinity of the Stadium will be controlled by a residents’ parking scheme. This will be enforced by local enforcement officers. If you are planning to arrive to the venue by car, we advise you to pre-book your parking and use one of the many park-and-ride or park-and-walk sites situated close to the stadium.
You can see a map of the traffic management plan for around the City of Coventry Stadium in the section below.
To ensure a safe and secure environment around the venue during the Games, temporary traffic management measures are being implemented in roads near to the City of Coventry Stadium.
Traffic management around City of Coventry Stadium
The following temporary road closures will be in operation on match days:
- Judds Lane: For security and operational reasons, the very end of Judds Lane, past the normal stadium entrance, will be closed from 18 July – 10 August. This will not affect access to businesses off Rowleys Green Lane.
- Wheelwright Lane (part): Closed two hours before kick-off until one hour after the final whistle.
- Arena Park Road: This will be closed to all traffic (except shuttle buses and taxis) four hours before kick-off and will be reopened two hours after the final whistle.
A free parking permit (per vehicle) will be issued by Coventry City Council to residents on the affected roads. Residents with the appropriate parking permit will be allowed to park on the roads within the parking protection area during match times.
London 2012 staff will man the access entries of temporarily closed roads to ensure compliance with the scheme. For more information call 0800 0111 300.
