The North West will be part of the 2012 action, hosting Football matches at Old Trafford. But there are many other ways you can join in.
Use the Games to inspire you to take up a new sport, to volunteer in your local area, or to be part in a cultural project. Your business might be one of the thousands that win Games-related contracts. However you look at it, the 2012 Games are set to make a difference to the area.

- The North West has 47 facilities in the London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camps Guide
- The Australian Olympic Swimming Team has picked Manchester as their training base for the run up to the London 2012 Games, at the Manchester Aquatic Centre.
- The Thailand Olympic and Paralympic teams have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the North West Development Agency (NWDA) and Manchester City Council to host their Pre-Games Training Camps.
- The Oceania National Olympic Committees have signed a MoU with the NWDA for a long term partnership working towards London 2012 and hopefully beyond, to the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
- 67 London 2012 Handover flags were raised in the North West to celebrate the handover of the Games from Beijing to London.
