Timetable to 2012

Show jumper

In 2012 urban audiences will have a chance to see elite-level Equestrian events at first hand.

Here are provisional dates for the work that will be going on between now and 2012.

March 2010:

Planning consent awarded by the local planning authority, Greenwich Council.

August 2010:

Ground preperation works begin.

July 2011:

Test Event to be held in the Park to ensure everything is working properly.

April 2012:

Work expected to begin on temporary structures such as the Arena.

6 July:

Anticipated closure of the majority of the Park to the public. The playground and flower garden remain open.

27 July-12 August:

London 2012 Olympic Games.

31 July:

Provisional date for the Cross Country event to be held. The playground and flower garden are closed for one day only.

1 August:

Cross Country jumps start to be dismantled and removed.

Early August:

Anticipated re-opening of sections of the Park to the public.

29 August-9 September:

London 2012 Paralympic Games.
