Transport

The Olympic Delivery Authority has invested £80m in the Docklands Light Railway, which will improve services in time for the 2012 Games and beyond by increasing capacity by 50 per cent across most of the network by the end of 2010. Services on the Lewisham - bank line already have 50 per cent extra capacity

Sports legacy

Greenwich Council is actively promoting a range of sports activities and programmes using the Games to inspire local children and residents to become more active. The council is also working with a number of sports governing bodies which are holding events in Greenwich in 2012 to develop opportunities to create meaningful long-term benefits.

Community

People across the borough are already experiencing the positive benefits of Greenwich being selected as an Olympic venue - businesses, schools and local residents alike. Greenwich Council has so far earmarked £17.5m to develop initiatives leaving long-term benefits from the Games.
