Information Technology Procurement Manager, Olympic Delivery Authority
What is your role at the ODA?
My main responsibility is to ensure that any service coming into the live infrastructure has been adequately procured, and that the correct IT groups are involved. The role is a combination of both technical and commercial aspects, involving proposal review, contract management and financial management.
What is your background?
I was working at the London Underground as a Service Delivery Manager ensuring that delivery priorities and capabilities on both new and existing IT projects aligned with the business objectives.
Describe a typical day?
The Procurement team is under a lot of scrutiny from external stakeholders, such as Government, the marketplace and the media. Day to day I am responsible for making sure that services and goods are delivered on time, are good value for money and fit for purpose.
What is your favourite aspect of the role?
I enjoy the challenging and fast pace of the environment. I enjoy establishing accelerated working methods to navigate aggressive timelines and to deliver projects on time.
What inspired you to join the 2012 team?
The excitement of the Games and to be part of the London 2012 experience.
