The Role:
Key areas of responsibility include budgeting, forecasting, business planning, Rate Card, and planning and management of LOCOG’s Value in Kind goods and services. This role will also co-ordinate key projects across the Financial Planning function in conjunction with LOCCOG functional areas ensuring high quality of information and fast decision making with the business.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities include the following:
- Provide business insight and value added analysis to facilitate effective decision making across the business
- Critically review and improve budgeting, forecasting and management reporting processes to meet the growing needs of the business
- Provide consistent support and advice to the Head of Financial Planning and CFO
- Supervise the preparation of lifetime and annual budgets and regular reforecasts for all areas of LOCOG’s circa £2bn expenditure and revenue
- Deliver in conjunction with Procurement and other functional areas in LOCOG the initial scope and plan of Rate Card services across the client groups of Broadcast, Press, Sponsors, and National Olympic Committees
- Deliver an action plan and proactively manage across the business the allocation and consumption of LOCOG’s Value in Kind goods and services provided by LOCOG’s sponsors, partners and suppliers, including a cash conversion plan for unutilised Value in Kind
- Develop in conjunction with financial control LOCOG’s financial systems including design and implementation of a business planning tool
- Review in conjunction with financial control the analysis of monthly results for Management Committee, Board and others
Skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Qualified ACA or equivalent with at least 2 years commercial experience in a senior Financial Planning role in a blue chip company and/or a company that has experienced rapid growth where systems and tools have been built from scratch but are now well established
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven and adept at change management
- The role does not currently have any direct reports. However our structures are evolving quickly and we anticipate this will change in the next 12 months and therefore team management experience is essential
