Make Your Mark Challenge 2008 Lead organisation: Enterprise Insight The Make Your Mark
Challenge is the UK’s largest free one-day national enterprise competition for schools and colleges. It kick-starts Enterprise Week and, this year, takes place on 17 November. The competition is designed for students aged 14-19 and aims to improve their enterprise capability.
Students across the country will be challenged to come up with unique products and services in response to a secret brief launched online on Monday 17 November.
Students compete in teams of four to six and are required to produce an ideas sheet, a money matters sheet, a competitors outline and then present their ideas in a dragon’s den style pitch.
Winners from schools and colleges are selected to attend the Regional finals on 28 November, hosted by the National Enterprise Business Partnership network.
The winner from each region will go on to represent their region at the National Final in London on 9 December. Schools and colleges have the chance of winning £3,000, as well as £100 in vouchers for each team member.
This year’s Make your Mark Challenge will be linked to the 2012 Games, enabling young people to develop their innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial skills.
The Make your Mark Campaign complements the ambitions and structure of the London 2012 Education programme and is being developed in close collaboration with the Education team.
