Only businesses that become sponsors of the London 2012 Games are able to use the emblems and promote their business in relation to the Games.
Business that are awarded contracts by the Olympic Delivery Authority, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Ltd and their sub-contractors are therefore required to sign London 2012’s ‘no marketing rights’ clause, which restricts the marketing activities that they can undertake to promote their work on the Games. This restriction is necessary to protect LOCOG’s revenue from sponsors who pay very large sums to gain London 2012 marketing rights.
