Jenny Sealey and Bradley Hemmings, Co-Artistic Directors of the Opening Ceremony and Kim Gavin, Artistic Director of the Closing Ceremony, are searching for 5,000 Volunteer Performers to fill roles as dancers, actors, percussionists and general all-round performers.

Previous performance experience is not required to be a Ceremonies Volunteer Performer. You simply need lots of enthusiasm, personality, a positive attitude, huge amounts of energy and a willingness to perform to millions of people around the world. All of these rehearsals will take place in east London. Whilst it is possible for us to offer assistance with public transportation to and from rehearsals between certain zones within the Transport for London transportation network, you will be responsible for covering the cost of your own transportation outside these travel zones.

The deadline for receipt of applications for the Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies is Monday 27 February 2012, and this is not a first come, first served process. Only only one application per person will be accepted.
To be eligible applicants must be aged 18 years or older on 1 March 2012. Only one application per person will be accepted and if LOCOG receives over 8,000 applications a computerised draw will be used to randomly create the short list for auditions.
If you have previously attended an audition then you should not apply again. We are in the process of contacting all auditionees so don’t worry if you haven’t heard from us yet. If you previously registered your interest in auditioning, but did not attend an Olympic audition, we will automatically be sending you a new invitation to audition, so please do not re-register here.
