The Synchronised 3m Springboard is run as a straight final, with eight teams competing. The women’s event consists of five rounds of dives.

A random draw is made in advance to decide the order in which teams dive. A panel of 11 judges assesses each dive, giving a score out of 10. At the end of the competition the team with the highest total score takes the gold medal.
