Highlights

Sierra Leone were first represented by a team of three at the Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games in athletics and boxing.

Light heavyweight boxer Israel COLE reached the quarterfinals at the Los Angeles 1984 tournament.

Heptathlete Eunice BARBER competed in the 100m hurdles, long jump and heptathon at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games for Sierra Leone.

At the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games she finished fifth with 6,342 points, which was only 147 points off the bronze medal place.

It remains the best performance by an athlete from Sierra Leone. BARBER represented France at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games.

At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Sierra Leone had a team of three.

They have yet to win a medal.
