San Marino

Highlights

San Marino were first represented by a nine-man team at the Rome 1960 Olympic Games in cycling, shooting and wrestling.

Shooting has proved their most successful sport. Emanuela FELICI placed seventh in women's trap at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Francesco AMICI finished seventh in the men's trap in Athens in 2004. It was his fourth consecutive appearance.

Trap shooter Leo FRANCIOSI competed at Rome 1960 and also competed in the 1968, 1976 and 1980 Games to become the first San Marino competitor to take part in four Olympic Games. Salvatore PELLICCIONI took part in the trap shooting at the Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games.

His son Alfredo competed at three Olympic Games in the small bore rifle from 1976 to 1984. Younger brother Flavio took part in the men's windsurfing at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games.

Daniela DEL DIN finished 15th in the women's trap at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She was the best performer of the four-member team.

They have yet to win a medal.
