Highlights
Namibia were first represented at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games by a team of six.
Their outstanding performer was Frankie FREDERICKS who claimed silver medals in the 100m and 200m in Barcelona.
He took silver in the same events at Atlanta 1996 and remains Namibia's only Olympic Games medallist to date. He competed at his third Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
An IOC member since 2004, he was elected to the executive board in 2008. Swimmer Monica DAHL was Namibia's first female competitor. She contested the 50m and 100m freestyle at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games.
At Beijing 2008, Namibia sent 10 competitors in four sports.
