Highlights
The Federated States of Micronesia were first represented at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games by a team of three men and two women. They have competed in athletics, swimming and weightlifting.
Weightlifter Manuel MINGINFEL has been an ever-present in Micronesia's team and flagbearer on each occasion. He finished 10th in the featherweight class at Athens 2004. Sprint runner John HOWARD represented Micronesia in the 100m at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and his twin Jack followed his example in Beijing.
Neither brother went further than the heats. Evangeleen IKELAP competed in the women's 100m at Athens 2004 and her younger sister Maria took part in the same event in Beijing in 2008. Both went out in the heats.
