Highlights

Sprinter Motsapi MOOROSI became Lesotho's first Olympian at the Munich 1972 Olympic Games.

He competed in the 100m and 200m. Mantokoane PITSO was the first woman to represent Lesotho. She ran the 800m and 1500m at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games.

Thabiso MOQHALI has twice competed in the men's marathon at the Olympic Games, finishing 33rd in 1992 and 16th at Sydney 2000.

Lesotho have competed in the Olympic sports of athletics, boxing and taekwondo. Their team of five in Beijing included four marathon runners.
