Jordan first appeared at the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games. Their four-man team all competed in shooting.
Shooting and athletics have provided most of Jordan's Olympic representatives.
At the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, 3,000m runner Raida Abdallah BADER was the first Jordanian woman to compete. Princess Haya took part in the showjumping at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
At the Beijing 2008 Games, Jordan sent a team of seven in five sports.
