Honduras first sent a team to the Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games.
The six-man team competed in athletics. Santiago FONSECA finished 27th in the men's 20km walk at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games. He also competed in 1984 and 1988. Honduras qualified for the men's football tournament for the first time in 2000.
They drew 3-3 with Nigeria, beat the host nation Australia 2-1 but lost to Italy and did not qualify for the knockout stages.
Honduras had a team of 25 at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Game. This included their men's football team.
Honduras have yet to win a medal.
