Highlights
Gambia's first Olympic team was also their biggest to date. Ten Gambians competed at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games and all took part in athletics.
They included twins Paul and Peter CEESAY, who took part in the 1500m and 800m events respectively.
Dawda JALLOW competed in four consecutive Olympic Games from 1984–96. He reached the 400m quarterfinals in 1988. Gambia sent a team of three to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to compete in athletics and boxing.
They have yet to win a medal.
