Highlights
Dominica were first represented at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games by a team of five athletes and a swimmer. This is their largest team to date. Swimmer Woody LAWRENCE was the first into action in the men's 50m freestyle.
Triple jumper Jerome ROMAINE qualified for the final at the Atlanta 1996 Games. He was his country's flagbearer in Atlanta and again at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The 100m sprinter Hermin JOSEPH and the 800m semifinalist Dawn WILLIAMS were Dominica's first female Olympians. Ten of Dominica's 13 Olympians to date have taken part in athletics. Swimming is the other sport in which Dominicans have participated.
They have yet to win a medal at the Olympic Games.
