Highlights
Djibouti first appeared at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games. Their three team members all competed in the men's marathon.
Ahmed SALAH's bronze in the marathon at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games was Djibouti's first medal. Salah competed in four successive Olympic Games marathons from 1984. He was one of two athletes and carried Djibouti's flag at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Roda ALI WAIS was the first female competitor for Djibouti. At 16 years, 162 days she was also the youngest to represent her country when she took part in the 800m at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
