Highlights

Gabriel M'BOA became their first Olympian when he competed in the 5000m at the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games. Central African Republic did not appear again until the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles but have been present at all subsequent Games.

Discus thrower Mickael CONJUNGO represented his country at three successive Olympic Games from 1992–2000.

At the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games he was joined in the team by his sister Marie Joelle, who competed in the 100m hurdles.

Their team in Beijing 2008 consisted of a boxer and two athletes. Central African Republic have yet to win an Olympic medal.
