The public will be wowed when they enter the Olympic Stadium today

Today we're welcoming the first members of the public into the Olympic Stadium, as part of Open Weekend 2009. Getting 320 people in over the course of the day will be no mean feat - it's a building site, after all. But I'm sure they're going to be wowed by what they see.

Three years to go to the Games and there's a proper stadium...of course not quite complete, but with a main structure pretty much there, a sense of rafters for where the seats will be etc.

The members of the public coming along won the opportunity for the special visit through competitions on Twitter, in the Evening Standard and LBC radio. As they walk along the Greenway (the main pedestrian walkway at the Park site) they'll also get a view of a lot of the rest of the Park, including the brilliant wave-shaped Aquatics Centre roof.

I'll be there too - alongside many colleagues helping out on the day. My role is to accompany a photographer who'll be capturing the special moment for each of the guests - can't wait to see the look on their faces.

I loved it! I am soo grateful to be able to see the inside of the Olympic Stadium, rather than just the outside.

Wow, wow, wow - what a super opportunity to go inside! It still seems surreal... really (really!) exciting to have been inside. Many, many thanks to all involved - well worth travelling up from Devon. Thank you also for the coin / etc - a lovely memento of the occasion. You are all a very happy, organised and motivated team. =) Thank you!

It was great privilege to be one of the 1st members of 'joe public' to be able to visit the Olympic Park & actually go inside the main Stadium this morning (tour 5). My 1st thought: 'wow it's huge!' my 2nd thought: 'what's it going to be like when it's full of spectators?' Well, only 3 years to wait! Congratulations to everyone involved in today's Open Weekend event. I was impressed by how well everything was organised and how friendly and knowledgeable the tour guides & all volunteers were. It would be great if opportunities to visit the Stadium became more regular as the countdown to 2012 continues.

Day to remember today. We were led by two very informed LOCOG members and 18 others on Tour 10 around the Stadium. It's now just 3 years tomorrow until the opening ceremony but you can imagine already what it's going to be like on that great night. I was struck by how intimate the stadium is. The crowd will be on top of the athletes and the atmosphere will be jumping! The whole arena has a feel of the Rome Colisseum. Its different again from the Olympic Stadium in Athens and the Bird's Nest.

Such a perfect and amazing day/experience!I am lucky enough to be a full time worker at London 2012 HQ and was more than happy to volunteer for this great opportunity. It was a privilege to be able to be a part of the team that helped give all our visitors a day to remember. I was lucky enough to take 2 tours along with a colleague and it was so lovely to see people smiling, taking pictures and enjoying the experience. It was a long day but well worth it, I loved every minute and cant wait for 27th July 2012!
