Ensuring Scottish businesses benefit from the Games

A broad section of Scottish businesses had the opportunity to meet with key contacts in the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and the London Organising Committe of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), as well as some tier one contractors last Thursday at a 'meet-the-buyer' event organised jointly by Scottish Enterprise and the ODA.

The event was part of an ongoing programme of work that we have with London 2012 in promoting businesses opportunities from the Games, ensuring that Scottish businesses and Scotland as a whole can reap economic benefit from them.

The day was very full and consisted of a series of sessions with suppliers, a tour of the Olympic Park and the opportunity to network.

Feedback has been very positive and it was evident on the day that everyone was extremely upbeat about the range of supply chain opportunities that are still up for grabs. There was also a feeling of excitement and anticipation, as we toured the Olympic Park, of the scale of the event that will be with us in 2012.
