I've been working on the Olympic Park for approximately six months, but I have been working in construction for 40 years - you can kind of tell that I like it!
I am currently looking after different maintenance requirements in various locations on the north of the Park, such as repairs, fittings and keeping the Core Team Office in good order.
My interest in the Park and the Games themselves is mainly because of my nephew David Weir - he’s currently out in Beijing competing in the Paralympic Games, they will be his third Games. He previously won a silver medal and a bronze at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens. He also won three gold medals and a silver at the 2006 Paralympic World Championships in Assen.
David competing in Beijing:

David is an elite British Paralympic wheelchair athlete. He won his third London Marathon in a row, and his fourth in total this year.
I was very proud to watch my nephew slice nearly a tenth of a second from his own world record but unfortunately he came away with silver. David is currently suffering from a virus, but we hope that he makes a speedy recovery as he still has the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m and marathon to come.
All of our family are very proud of David’s achievements - he was nine years old when he started getting into disabled athletics and his wins throughout the years shows what hard work achieves.
We all look forward to his return.
Good luck ParalympicsGB and David especially, we’re all rooting for you!
