One of our new time-lapse cameras has been hard at work capturing the rapid changes on the Olympic Stadium site.

In this video, about four weeks of recent progress is condensed into just over 40 seconds. Watch it and see the construction of the concrete columns that form the supporting structures for the lower ground floor of the west stand. In 2012, this will form the athletes' changing rooms and other back of house facilities such as doping control and treatment rooms.
This video comes from one of several cameras that are taking new images every five or ten minutes at different locations around the Park. The time-lapsing of these images is going to make for some fascinating viewing over the next few years as the venues come out of the ground and start to take shape.

Now that the rest of Britain has caught up with what a brilliant event London 2012 is, let's really hit back at the cynics and make it work.Engage the children, focus on the positives and kick the gloom merchants of the media into touch. Lets have a country that pulls together to support this superb occasion - and that includes ALL media.Richard

I hope they will get it all done in time and not take any short cuts but i'm not expecting them to though lol, what i've seen on the news etc it looks amazing even though it's slightly smaller than Beijing's lol they have more space than us and we are going to do things they didn't for example have more screens for the people without tickets to see the events.

The time lapse video is a brilliant idea, and yes, I second the suggestion that we have similar videos showing what's happening to the Olympic park as a whole, and to various buildings. Great job, and good luck to everyone involved - hope we stay within budget. And also hope I get picked to be a volunteer.
