On Tuesday we held the ODA’s sixth specialist stakeholder event. The event was attended by over 60 stakeholders including British Waterways and the Environment Agency. They got to see the designs for the Handball Arena, Basketball Arena and Greenway that are being built or upgraded for the London 2012 Games.

The stakeholders were organised according to their specialisms such as safety, security, equalities, access and sustainability.

Stakeholders with expertise in 'safety' discuss the venues:

Last week, members of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) Transport team were out in force at the hallowed ground of cricket - Lord's (unless you are a Yorkshire person that is!) We were not there to play cricket but to attend an awards ceremony, representing our colleagues from the Transport team.

Why were we there? Well, the ODA Transport team, along with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and our delivery partners, have the job of delivering transport for the London 2012 Games. Together, we need to get all spectators and the Olympic Family safely and on time to the venues.

Running alongside the Olympic Delivery Authority's (ODA) archaeology 'discover' programme on East Marsh for much of July were some health and safety drama workshops in local primary schools. These were delivered across the five Host Boroughs (Newham, Hackney, Greenwich, Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets).

The workshops highlighted the dangers of living and playing close to a building site and followed on from sessions we did with children and young people from Waterden Road earlier in the year. Teddy and Grace from a theatre company performed up to three workshops a day over a three week period. They did fantastically well to keep the sessions as fresh, bouncy and informative as they did and were a real pleasure to work with.

The workshop warned children about the dangers of building sites:
