On Sunday, 27 July, we mark four years to go to the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
And where better to mark the moment than with the workers currently transforming the Park site?

They're undertaking such a huge task some people ask whether such a thing is even achievable. But they're already ahead of schedule – construction on the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre are underway and due to finish in time for Test Events in 2011.
Four years – in some ways it seems like a lifetime away. Except that we actually start this year: after Beijing, when the UK becomes the official next host of the Olympic Games, we'll be kicking off with loads of cultural activity through the Cultural Olympiad, plus our domestic education programme.
Four years? I have a feeling the time's going to fly...
(a bit like our sign?):

Just back from Athens - their infrastructure was tranformed by the Games- better road, rail networks, Plaka pedestrianised, the air cleaner, the shop opening hours through the afternoon in the city rather than the big siesta. Let's hope that in 2016 London can say the same.
