Winning a contract with London 2012

Colin, Director of a business in Wales, 17 Jul 2008

I am the Director of a door manufacturing company in Port Talbot, Wales and last week ODA Chairman, John Armitt, LOCOG Chair, Seb Coe, and Chairman of the Nations and Regions Group, Charles Allen, came to visit us for a tour around our factory.

We manufacture, install and maintain all types of doors, barriers and gates, and specialise in anti-ram raid, anti-terrorist, blast, high security, ballistic, fire and acoustic doors.
We have won a contract to provide high-security entrance doors to the two 6km tunnels that have been dug up to 30 metres underground to house the Olympic Park power cables. These will replace 52 overhead pylons crossing the Park.

The people in Wales are very excited about the 2012 Games. London 2012 is a great opportunity for all regions within the UK. It has given us all the opportunity to show the world what 'United Kingdom' really means. All we have to do is get involved and take part by doing what we do best, whether it is sport, business or culture.
