Visiting the Olympic Park today to mark the official start of construction on the Olympic Stadium gave me a great feel for how the venue will be in 2012.
I discussed with Tessa Sanderson where the Javelin run-up and throwing area would be and even which direction the wind may be blowing in. Being a field athlete it will be great having the whole crowd clapping for me as I prepare for my throw. I can't tell you how excited I am about the Games in 2012.
I honestly think it is going to be the best Games ever, not just because of the sporting element but also because the cultural aspect will be fantastic. London is the best city in the world - it's so diverse.
Meeting Gordon Brown today:

I sit on the Olympic Stadium Advisory Panel so I know the level of detail that goes into creating an Olympic Stadium. As an athlete it is so important that the areas that don’t get seen by the spectators are properly planned.
Normally I arrive at a Stadium about two and a half hours before my event starts so it is vital that the warm-up and changing facilities are good and that we can get into the Stadium easily to compete. These things sound simple but it is this attention to detail that makes the difference for us athletes on the day.
There is real excitement among the athletes about the Games in 2012, especially the younger guys - we feel like it is our Games.
