Soon the media will realise that constantly hunting for everything negative in our national life is eating away at the very soul of our nation. I hope that in the end London 2012 proves every prophet of doom comprehensively wrong, and that the forthcoming Olympics in our great capital city will be a resounding success for 2012 and beyond for all concerned. We need to get stuck in to this and achieve greatness for Britain once again - we can do it!

I love the new stadium, it's like a giant supermarket own-brand Tiramasu carton surrounded by the Tellytubbies set, what could be better?

So far i am absolutely disgusted with the proceedings towards the Olympic Games in 2012.

When the news broke that the city of London had won the bid to host the games i was over the moon, feeling much the same as everyone else.

An overwhelming sense of national pride swept the country that day. Unfortunately everything was thrown into perspective when the next day bombs were set off across the city.

My main issue with the Olympic organisers is their almost ignorance of the country that London is the capital city of. Is there a mention of Great Britain, The United Kingdom or England in any of the statements? Has our national flag been associated in any way with this event? The answer is no.

The organisers want the country to get behind the event and invest our hard earned money into this four yearly folly. But we, the British, are given almost no representation whatsoever. You can be damn sure that the French, Russians, Americans or Spanish would have washed the streets with the colours from their flags.

The new stadium looks tremendous, but what are the blue and green blobs floating around London? Is 2012 really that far in the future that shiny green flying vehicles will be running amok across the skyline? And whats with the traditional African meets Indian meets Chinese meets Latin American music all about? I understand that London is a diverse cultural city but sureley a bit of traditional British music could be played.

It would be good to know when, after the games, the stadium will be ready for occupancy with the reduced capacity of 25,000.

I really like the idea of the modules (blobules?) outside the stadium, providing information, food kiosks, etc. They're a really cute and recogniseable way of providing the services people need while they are at the stadium.

Why not roll them out across the Olympic Park, or even maybe temporary ones across the city at each of the venues? They would be a really recogniseable way of providing spectator services "landmarks" to people at each of the venues.

A fluffy "blobule" might even make a cool mascot!

The stadium is amazing but when they take the fabric wrap away it looks just like a normal stadium, after the games they should keep the stadium as it is if they want to have a positive legacy, they think the critisim is bad know wait until they see it after the games.

if the goverment wants to get young people involved in sports by 2012 they should be going to schools around the country and spread the word, they should also hand out leaflets and tell Londoners whats going on.

Very cool. Much better to see it like this than on the computer-generated 2D renderings which are harder to visualise. Had always wondered what the stadium would look like in 'legacy mode'. It reminds me of those neat little stadia you see in football internationals from smaller countries - usually in hot climates! Not sure how the open-to-the-elements design with the gap between the roof and the stadium will work in Britain's inclement weather but it's a great ergonomic solution to the white elephant syndrome.

I'd have to agree with James Quinn's statements from above. I'm from the good ol' USA and I'm all about some national patriotism, regardless of what country you're from. Love the place you live, and others will love it too. Multi-culturalism is great, but don't get lost in a sea of nothingness. Fly the Union Jack EVERYWHERE, Play your national anthem, show me people drinking tea, show me the Queen waving from a balcony, I don't know what else you people do on that island, but whatever it is, I want to see it! Make 2012 as British as possible! On a lighter note, the stadium and surrounding areas look absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see it completed, and maybe even in real life.

I felt dissappointed that young people (our most creative, sparkling and possibly innovative resource) were not consulted on the logo design. I really wanted to see a national competition for a logo design to catalyse and stimulate countrywide interest in the 2012 olympics. I hope that people, particularly young people are allowed to have their ideas considered well in advance of the games for future design and layout issues. We should show the world that we really care about the opinion of youth and our opening presentation should be geared at showing the world this. Open up the consultation to the kids and stimulate their involvement and their minds! Please don't let this exciting prospect be controlled by a bunch of old men in grey suits! Allow the creativity of GB to shine through please!

OMG I can't believe that the stadium looks like a giant bowl with smarties around the edge. and there was no mention of the swimming pools. Are they going to use the Thames for the pools?

Another point why is it always London that has the events like this? What about putting the events in the middle of the country? just because London is our capital does not mean it has to have all the events and why should someone who lives in the midlands have to pay for something that will be built for the Olympics that will be pulled down 1 year later to make way for houses, and that will never get to goto?
