This morning it was exciting to be at head offices of Lloyds TSB in Scotland for the Banking Partner announcement.
I met employees and gave my view on why the project is so important, but they needed no convincing. There was a great sense of celebration, a real feeling that it was a special day and a real sense of pride amongst the staff that their company was the first to get on board.
With a branch on every high street, Lloyds TSB are perfectly placed to make sure this enthusiasm reaches everyone in the UK.
Whenever I've been on the road I've found that people are genuinely excited about London 2012 - today was no exception.
People were interested to see a gold medal I'd brought along but they were just as interested to hear what hosting a Games can do for a whole country.

It was a pleasure to be involved in the Edinburgh launch of Lloyds TSB's sponsorship. The highlight obviously being meeting Jonathan!
As a big sports fan I have always been very enthusiastic and a great supporter of the Olympics. From getting up in the middle of the night to watch the Sydney Olympics during my final year at University - right through to remembering where I was when the 2012 winning bid was announced (on a railway station platform - my brother rang me with the words "We got it!"). So now to have my employer - Lloyds TSB - closely associated makes me feel very proud.
The summer of 2012 will be an extremely exciting time for the whole country to have the world's attention focussed on us.
I hope the bank's sponsorship will raise awareness and help spread the excitement I feel to every corner of the UK from now onwards.

Lloyds TSB are indeed to be congratulated on their support for London games. An opportune time for the announcement of a sponsor, the day's news being more taken up with the rising cost of the undertaking! Still, these things don't come cheap and we should remember the infrastructure legacy as well as the event itself.

We had an excellent day at the Edinburgh launch thanks to Jonathan giving a real insight into how the Bank and its staff can all contribute to making a success of the partnership.
The press conference at Edinburgh Castle added to the excitement and the Scottish press reacted rather well to the announcement on learning that one of the key aims is to take the Olympics to the wider community.
I was one of many staff to welcome the news with enthusiasm and I'm looking forward to getting involved.
