General
GOOD SPORT
He made it to the final of the under 78kg event at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. There he faced Japan's Hiroyuki Akimoto, who had beaten him at that year's world championship. Akimoto had suffered an ankle injury in the semifinal, and normally one of Wang's tactics is to attack his opponents' ankles. But, knowing that Akimoto had been hurt, he abandoned that tactic and only concentrated on trying to throw him. It was easy for Akimoto to diffuse his attempts, and Wang went on to lose the match. But he was praised for his good sportsmanship. "It is incredible that Wang didn't exploit my weakness for a fairly contested match even if he could have taken advantage of it," Akimoto said. "I respect him." (koreatimes.co.kr, 16 Nov 2011)
