NO COACH
After he separated with former coach Eric Winogradsky in April 2011, he spent a year without a coach and by 2012 had still not found one. "When the right opportunity comes and a coach I like is available, I will take one," he said in March 2012. He hinted at a possible return to Winogradsky. "I'd say that if I take another coach anytime soon, Eric will be one of the first people with whom I will discuss." (lequipe.fr, sport.francetv.fr, 09 Mar 2012)

FAIR PLAY
While leading Ryan Harrison 3-1 in a second set tie-break in Madrid in May 2012 he corrected an umpire's call and conceded a point to his adversary that the umpire had originally awarded to him. "When injustices like this happen, I don't like it. The best thing to do is concede the point," he said after. (welovetennis.fr, 09 May 2012)

FAMILY
His father Didier is a chemistry teacher from the Congo who came to France to pursue his studies, and is a former handball player. His mother Evelyne is also a teacher. (jowiltsonga.fr, 2012)
