Start of sporting career

General
ARMY OFFICER
She was accepted into the University of Bath with an Army bursary as part of the University Officer Training Corps [UOTC] programme. As a result the Royal Military Academy [RMA] Sandhurst was her next stop after graduation. In August 2008 she was commissioned from the RMA into the Royal Artillery at Larkhill, Wiltshire. She was temporarily released from her Army duties in order to train full-time in the lead-up to the 2012 London Olympic Games. EARLY DAYS
After taking up the sport at Bath University in 2004 she claimed her first title at the 2006 Student Indoor Rowing Championships. As a result she was accepted onto British Rowing's Start Programme and in 2007 she won gold with crewmate Olivia Whitlam in the women's pair at the World U23 Championships in Strathclyde, Scotland.
