He is originally from Gambia but obtained Norwegian citizenship in December 2006. He moved to Oslo because his father and other family members were living there. (aftenposten.no, 22 Sept 2008)
POSITIVE TEST
He tested positive for cannabis on 28 June 2007 in Luzern, Switzerland. However, he claimed that he had unknowingly had some tea which was prepared with cannabis. The Norwegian anti-doping authorities accepted the explanation and he was not suspended. (aftenposten, 12 Apr 2008)
