Reason for taking up this sport
He was a fan of guns as a little boy, and a neighbour suggested he try it as a sport. His parents then decided to send him to a sports school in Baoding, where he started training seriously. He says he chose pistol for its prestige, "The pistol is the General's weapon, and the rifle the soldier's, so I chose the pistol."
