FAMILY FIRST
At the 2012 London Olympic Games she and younger sister Kate will become the first sisters to compete together in sailing for Great Britain at an Olympic Games. She admits sailing with her sister can be a challenge, but bringing her into the crew was a simple decision. "Kate was in the squad and Kate fitted the bill," she said, "It is different sailing with your sister but we try to make it a strength rather than a weakness. Knowing each other really well is sometimes really good out on the water."

2008 OLYMPIC SELECTION
Sailing with helm Shirley Robertson and Annie Lush in the Yngling class, she narrowly missed out on selection for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, as they sat behind the gold medal-winning crew of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson in the pecking order. She felt the experience was painful, but also valuable in providing motivation.. "I realised how much I wanted it when I couldn't have it," she said. (dorsetecho.co.uk, 27 Sep 2011)

EARLY DAYS
She had a place confirmed at university to do Sports Science, but wanted to see whether she could go any further with her sailing. She took a gap year in 2005 and has never looked back. "I'm still on my gap year" she said. (yachtingworld.com, 20 Feb 2012)
