2011 HISTORY MAKER
He became the third man in history to defend his World Championship marathon title, following up his 2009 victory in Berlin by taking gold again in Daegu in 2011. His winning margin in 2011 was also the largest winning margin in world championship history. He wasn't originally selected for the Kenyan team to go to South Korea, but made the team after a series of withdrawals. (iaaf.org, 04 Sep 2011)

After his victory in Daegu he was promoted to Inspector and hopes to progress further should he win at the 2012 Olympic Games or break the world record.
