BELATED WORLD CHAMP
In January 2012, he was belatedly awarded the 2011 world track sprint title after the UCI invalidated the results of France's Gregory Bauge because of anti-doping infringements. It was Kenny's first gold medal at a World Championships. "The news came as quite a surprise. While it's an honour to get my first senior World Championship title, I would have preferred to have achieved it under different circumstances." (bbc.co.uk, 06 Jan 2012)
