She says she "immediately realised that it was the sport for me." (emmajohansson.com, 2011)

She says that her goal in life is "to be happy and to win races." (emmajohansson.com, 2011)

Sporting philosophy / motto
"A winner is a loser who was willing to fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up, and win." (emmajohansson.com, 2011)

General
RADIO BAN
She has mixed feelings concerning the partial ban on radios that was imposed on women's racing [radios can only be used in the world cup]. She claims that it is good for smaller teams, because the bigger teams are more dependent on communication, as they usually have more than one team captain. On the other hand, using radios allows her to hear the instructions from her trainer and husband which adds to her confidence. She is also concerned about the safety aspect of not having radios, because "it becomes more difficult for sports directors to warn their riders of upcoming hazards". (podiumcafe.com, 24 Feb 2011)

WOMEN'S CYCLING
She believes women's cycling needs more television coverage to help the sport grow. She feels that, with more television coverage, it would be easier for riders to attract sponsors and the races would be bigger and better due to the financial rewards from television rights.
