General
EUROPEAN BASE
During the cycling season he bases himself in Monte Carlo. "It doesn't necessarily live up to the glitzy image everyone has of Monaco. You certainly see a lot of wealth, some big boats in the harbour but you can also live pretty humbly there." (highroadsports.com, 20 Mar 2011)

SPRINTER
Known as a top quality sprinter, he is the only man Mark Cavendish worries about in a group finish. "When he's on form he arrives there fresh, he can climb well and he's clever on the bike. I've known him a long time and raced amateurs with him. He's the only man that I believe can beat me if I don't make a mistake," said Cavendish. (cyclingnews.com, 16 Mar 2012)

TEAM LEADER
He left HTC-Highroad in 2011 to join GreenEdge and further his career. Often leading out other sprinters in the HTC team, he is now the leader of his new team. "The reason I joined HTC-Highroad two years ago was to get a little more leadership responsibility and it's slowly increased. It's been a gradual process and I'm ready to take on more of a leadership role. From the start GreenEdge has stated they want to be successful in the classics and go to the stage races targeting stage wins and that's perfect for me." (smh.com.au, 06 Sep 2011)
