Start of sporting career

HEART CONDITION
In December 1999 a cardiac anomaly was detected and he was prohibited from competing in international competitions for Spain by the Spanish Sports Council [CSD]. With the help of an English physician, he recovered his international licence in November 2003. In 2005 the Spanish sporting authorities revoked his licence again, and with the help of more international cardiology specialists he recovered his licence once again in February 2006. FAMILY BACKGROUND
