General
NO GAMES
In June 2008 The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland rejected his appeal for a reduction in his four-year ban for testing positive to a banned male testosterone hormone. Gatlin, whose ban didn't expire until July 2010, had hoped to have it reduced to two years, giving him a chance to defend his 100m title at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He was finally reinstated on 24 July, 2010. (Fox, 07 Jun 2008; sportsillustrated.cnn.com, 24 Feb 2012)

ART VERSUS SPORT
He received full scholarship offers in track and field as well as graphic design. He says he nearly went to art school, before changing his mind and pursuing his track career. (uastf.org, 2011)
