EARLY DAYS
As a child he used to practice badminton in his bedroom by dragging his toy boxes in front of the wall to act as a net. He would then volley a ping pong ball against the wall, sometimes for up to an hour and a half. He believes this, more than anything else, helped in the development of his skills and reactions. (ONS, 2000)
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
In 2010 he gave his winning shirt and gold medal from the 2010 European Championships to collect money for the '1000 rackets for Haiti' campaign, a programme that aimed to help the children of Haiti forget the trauma of the 2010 earthquake. (badminton.dk, 25 May 2011)
