LONDON 2012
She has never won an Olympic medal and sees Australian hurdler Sally Pearson as her main rival going into the London Games. She said, "I think as long as I can get out with Sally, I can compete with her, her edge is to get away from everybody early and maintaining that lead. I think that is really what separates her from everyone else at this moment. I have been working on my start, I don't have to beat her (Pearson) to the first hurdle but I need to be close enough, but I don't think I have much to worry about, I know that I have what it takes to compete with them." (radiowestindies.com, 26 Apr 2012)
PREPARATION
Following her injury problems, she knew she was in no position to defend the World title she won in 2009 two years later in Daegu. However, following pressure from her coach and her natural competitive spirit she went and used it to make sure she was in good condition for Olympic year. She said, "Honestly, I didn't want to do it. It was heartbreaking to go out there knowing that I didn't have a chance, I am just there for being there's sake. The decision for me going to the World Championships was all for Mr Francis, who wanted me to continue competing, to continue training so that I would have a base for my start of my 2012 background training."
