ATP PLAYERS COUNCIL
He was elected president of the ATP Players Council in June 2008. He had a reported disagreement with Rafael Nadal, the former vice president of the council, over the plans to overhaul the rankings system. Nadal was in favour of adopting a new system that calculated ranking over two years, but Federer was not in favour of this change. "I think it would make things rather boring," Federer said. He was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in April 2006 because of his outstanding commitment to the world's children.
