SOVIET UNION TO GEORGIA TO GERMANY
Born in present day Georgia, she represented the Soviet Union from 1988 to 1990 and Georgia from 1992 to 1997. She then married a German, Axel Lilkendey [from whom she is now divorced], and received her German citizenship in May 1998. She then represented her adopted country at the 1998 World Championships.
