UNDERAGE ACCUSATIONS
She and several other Chinese gymnasts were part of an age verification controversy at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Her small size and a missing 'baby' tooth resulted in accusations by other teams, including the US, that she was under the Olympic eligibility age of 16. At the request of the IOC, FIG officials asked the Chinese to submit additional documentation to prove the ages of its gymnasts, and eventually ruled in their favour.
